| The Invasion Must Be Stopped Now! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| There are many issues that concern me. Near the top of the list is the ongoing invasion of illegal aliens, mostly from Mexico, into our country. When the Cincinnati Enquirer did their huge sappy puff piece, "They Come in Search of a Better Life," I am sure I was hardly unique when I flipped out because such rubbish is now considered fit to print in this once fine newspaper. The article was about four men from Mexico who came to America to better their lives and, in the end, they were mysteriously murdered in Sharonville, Ohio. Eileen Kelley portrays them as victims, I see them as criminals who, for whatever their motivation, invaded the United States for selfish reasons. Their lives ended as it does for many criminals: with a violent death. Is this reaction harsh? I think not; I think it is what once would have passed for logic. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| I live in Wilmington, Ohio, a town that prior to the late 1990s had a very small Hispanic population. Those who were here had generally been here for generations. I had a friend in my grade school class who was of Mexican heritage. His family had come to the US legally decades before. After graduation, he went on to have a career in the US Marine Corps and I am proud of him and honor his service to the country. His sister was a sweet lady who tragically died very young leaving a small child behind. I still become very sad thinking about her passing. I want to make clear my frustration with this issue is not about race, and if this invasion was by Lilly white Europeans I would be just as outraged about it. The rule of law is being demeaned and this willful violation of our laws and the way many lawmakers and enforcers are handling it is having, in my view, a very corrosive effect on our society. It breeds contempt of the law, something that has been growing for some time and will only get worse if we do not turn things around immediately. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| In reading the Enquirer article, I was filled with nothing but contempt for the writer who would pen such a thing. She attempts to paint this as an issue of compassion. Balderdash! It is about how people refuse to change the failed economic system in their country and come here to rape ours. I am sorry, but they and I are not just talking about the four dead men, who came to take advantage of us. They make money here and send it home to Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, etc., and by sending so much US currency out of the country they weaken the US economy in the process. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| They break our laws by invading our country. They do property damage, especially along the border, in this process. Landowners have been attacked and sadly, in one case, a rancher who fired a gun in the ground because he felt threatened has been sued and his ranch was given to the illegal aliens who attacked him! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mexico does nothing to alleviate the problems at the border. In all the footage I have seen of illegal aliens and the "coyotes" smuggling them into the US, I never see any border guard activity on the south side of the fence. You never see Mexican officials trying to stop the attacks on our Border Patrol agents, and the agents' vehicles need armor plate and cages put around the windows to protect the agents now. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| There are cultural differences. I am sure if you read the crime reports you will note all the traffic accidents with an illegal alien involved, where they are involved in a hit and run. In Mexico, for instance, it is acceptable to drive off, if you have not crippled the other person's car. In the US it is a crime. Apparently violence against women in these countries south of our border is also acceptable. As I mentioned earlier, I live in Wilmington, Ohio, where illegal immigration used to not be a problem. However, in the late 1990s, Wilmington faced an influx of primarily Mexican illegals. They came to work at the farms, as well as a major shipping firm in the area. They were processed by a temporary employment firm, whom we now know filed false papers and greased the skids for them to look legitimate to local companies. In reality, everyone knew who they were and what was going on. One local resident on Lincoln Street became so exasperated that he put a large sign on a tree that said "Welcome to Mexico." He was expressing the frustration of many. The Wilmington newspaper suddenly saw its crime report section grow. The well-known names of the local miscreants were being joined and replaced by exotic Hispanic names. Rapes, robberies, hit and runs, domestic abuse, etc. were all up, thanks to the newcomers. Then a couple years ago, the INS came to town. They cracked down on the temporary employment company that did the bulk of the job placement. Guess what happened, my friends. As quickly as they came, they disappeared. Suddenly, they self-deported. The jobs were gone and so were they. What they left was a mess. Wilmington, Ohio sadly is not unique in this situation. The bulk of our illegals left, but they are still in the region, as well as many other places in the United States. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Nationally we see the same problems with these invaders as we saw here in Wilmington. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| They are bankrupting our hospitals. People often complain about the cost of health care in the United States. There are many reasons. Greedy trial lawyers pursuing frivolous malpractice lawsuits are at the top of the list driving costs of being a physician or a hospital way up. Another is the fact the illegal aliens use hospital emergency rooms as their primary source of getting health care. Unfortunately, the law requires bilingual signs be posted telling them that they can not be turned down for medical treatment, regardless of ability to pay. Hence they come, get treatment, and don't pay. Those costs are passed on to you and me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Our political system is also being corrupted. Via motor voter, many illegal aliens are voting in the United States. The system for checking for such fraud is poor. We have all heard about the people who have registered their dogs and cats to vote. Wisely, some states now demand a form of photo identification to fight this problem of voter fraud. However, some states want to issue illegal aliens drivers licenses. This will make it all the easier for them to vote despite such restrictions in place. To the surprise of none, the Democrats are fighting this and have brought it to court in many states. Since the bulk of Hispanics vote for Democrats, they naturally assume they will garner the votes of illegal aliens as well. The truly stupid thing is the illegal aliens who are voting, and voting for Democrats, are ironically voting for the same sort of government control of the economy that has lead Mexico to be a economic basket case and their very reason for fleeing north! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sadly, the US government has done little to fight this problem. President Bush has been a huge disappointment to me on this issue. I don't know if it is because of his Hispanic sister-in-law or his many years in Texas, but his weakness on this issue is disturbing. Federal policy towards the issue has been weak. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Just as puzzling is the attitude our government takes towards the Mexican government. We bend over backwards to help them all the time. We know Mexico is encouraging their surplus population to come to the United States. They even print up comic books giving advice on how to make the crossing. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Despite the fact we know Mexico has a corrupt government, we have now shared information that potentially can be abused by criminals. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| In January, Attorney General Mukasey made a deal with the government of Mexico to share registration lists of American-owned firearms with them. Mexico will now be linked to a Spanish language version of the BATFE database so they can do traces on firearms found in Mexico. I was infuriated by this. I know this system is not in place to return stolen firearms that turn up south of the border. So why are we doing this? What happens if the corrupt Mexican government bureaucrat sells this information on gun owners to criminals, who then use that information to locate gun owners and break into their homes to steal firearms? There are unintended consequences to such policies. I will not be surprised if such abuses come to pass. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Unfortunately, Mexican criminals in this country are hardly a unique thing. Mexican illegals are responsible for too many crimes in our country and it seems very little is being done to seriously address this issue. Many people have been killed by the illegal aliens in this country. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| On Christmas day we watched the family favorite "A Christmas Story" at my brother's. We never tire of watching Ralphie, yet again, lobbying his parents for the Red Ryder BB gun. As we sat sipping our hot chocolate and enjoying this classic, I was bothered to remember that, in the spring of 2007, the director of that great film, Bob Clark, and his son were killed in a car crash. The crash was caused by a 55-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, who was also drunk. The man had had many encounters with the police for crimes, but was never deported. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55078 | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Though not involving an illegal alien, another unfortunate story is unfolding concerning legal agreements between our two countries. As I am sure you are all aware, a native-born Mexican, Caesar Laurean, a member of the US Marine Corps, has now fled to Mexico having murdered a pregnant Marine, Maria Lauterbach, from Vandalia, Ohio. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| The motive was that she had accused him of rape and of probably being the child's father. Mexico will not extradite him to the United States, because if caught and found guilty, we will prosecute seeking the death penalty. Never mind that this man bludgeoned the poor girl to death and then burned her body in his back yard, along with the body of her baby. If that does not call for the death penalty, then I don't know what does. To me this attitude by the Mexican government shows a lack of respect for the laws of the United States and justice. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| It makes me ill all that we do for Mexico and how they treat us. They should not be considered friends at all. Some Mexicans even desire re-conquest of the southwestern United States. Well, they have about done that by illegal invasion of our country. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| I think, in the end, the United State should handle illegal immigration with the same compassion as Mexico does. In 2006 J. Michael Waller wrote an excellent piece on Mexican immigration law. In part he writes: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| http://www.citizensforaconstitutionalrepublic.com/waller5-8-06.html#top | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91). | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| . Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned. Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| The General Law on Population says, | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · "A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Foreigners who "attempt against national sovereignty or security" will be deported. (Article 126) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| · Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| As you can see, the Mexican Government immigration standards are excellent, but it is not what they propose the United States do in handling their citizens when they invade the US. Clearly they have no business telling us what to do when their own policy is so hypocritical. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| This invasion is changing the face of our society. I found these Pew research statistics quoted in USA Today. It is sobering. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-02-11-population-study_N.htm | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Nearly one in five Americans will have been born outside the USA vs. one in eight in 2005. Sometime between 2020 and 2025, the percentage of foreign-born will surpass the historic peak reached a century ago during the last big immigration wave. New immigrants and their children and grandchildren born in the USA will account for 82% of the population increase from 2005 to 2050. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Whites who are not Hispanic, now two-thirds of the population, will become a minority when their share drops to 47%. They made up 85% of the population in 1960. Hispanics, already the largest minority group, will more than double their share of the population to 29%. Blacks will remain 13% of the population. Asians will go to 9% from 5%." | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| . | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| It is well past time that the United States gets a grasp on this situation. The amnesty of 1986 was a failure. Any further amnesties will be as well. It is time to hit those who employ illegal aliens with the severe penalties. We must forcefully deport all illegal aliens in the United States, no matter where they are from. It is time for the rule of law to be respected and time for those who make excuses for these violations that have cost us so dearly to be ridiculed for the fools they are. If we don't get a hold on this problem, the United States, as we have known it, will cease to exist within the next few decades. Our national sovereignty and the future of our children are at stake. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
