| Winter is an interesting time. I like to walk in the woods after it has snowed and look at the marvelous work of God’s paintbrush on the trees. Truly beautiful to behold and it is so quiet when it snows, even the birds are silent. It is amazing the way sound carries at great distance at such times. While walking in the snow a few days ago I got to thinking about sounds I should be hearing but have not. For instance for the past year and a half I have found it annoying that the press was not doing it’s duty to report on the radical associates of Barack Obama. It was truly a dereliction of their duty in keeping the American people informed. It was clear they had an agenda and wanted to assure his election, so such controversy was ignored. Even now that he has been elected and there is no danger to his securing the office of President, the mainstream press still says precious little about his odd, incompetent and outright dangerous choices for various offices. Since January a stream of crypto-Marxists have been put in positions of authority by President Obama and this exasperates me. I think of all the Americans killed in wars to stop Marxism abroad, in Korea, Vietnam and in the Cold War. Around one hundred thousand Americans have died to stop this scourge and yet now it is being done to us by the new President.
Back in my October article, I wrote of the resignation of Van Jones, which caught many by surprise because unless you were watching Fox News or listening to talk radio, the controversy over this admitted Marxist was ignored by the media. Since that time a slew of Marxists and Marxist sympathizers in this administration praising socialism, Mao, Marx, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, etc have been exposed by Fox News... The Mainstream media yawns and ignores it. Then in mid-December, the Obama administration did something I was sure the MSM would have to cover. Yet as silent as a walk in the woods in the new fallen snow, they are completely quiet. It’s not like they have had a great deal to cover; in the same time period I am sure you have heard about Sarah Palin’s vacation in Hawaii. You know, where she was photographed wearing a sun visor from last year’s Presidential campaign with the word McCain blacked out. However, I am willing to bet you have not heard that the Obama administration has announced that they were nominating Mari Del Carmen Aponte as our ambassador to El Salvador. Ms. Aponte has a troubling history and had previously been considered for an ambassadorship to the Dominican Republic during the Clinton era. That nomination was derailed when it was revealed she lived with Roberto Tamayo, a known operative for Fidel Castro’s DGI, the Cuban Intelligence service. Mr. Tamayo was being watched by the FBI and was recruiting spies for Cuba. Despite being warned about Mr. Tamayo’s role in Cuban intelligence, Ms. Aponte stayed with him but supposedly told him she did not wish to associate with his friends from the mission anymore. According to Big Government, “The memo — written by an intelligence expert working overseas — questioned the lack of a thorough security check into Aponte’s background. The memo also alleged that Aponte was recruited as a “DGI asset.” According to the memo, “When the FBI eventually questioned her about her involvement with Cuban intelligence, she reportedly refused to cooperate, saying that since she was not seeking a permanent White House position she was not subject to a background check.” This is Obama’s nominee… a dangerously incompetent move. I would like to know what kind of message this administration thinks it is giving to the Communist guerillas who still operate in El Salvador, that the United States would even consider someone like Ms. Aponte, with her background, for this Ambassadorship. Looks like a green light to step up activity to me. As I said earlier I have found it very distressing to see all of the known and avowed Socialists and Communists brought into the Obama administration. It is no accident and it is certainly not because they are ignorant of these appointees’ track records. Valerie Jarrett has told us they have been watching these people for quite awhile before they are brought in. They are bringing in people who think like themselves. It is stunning and sad that this could be happening in the United States. Perhaps the only way to explain the lack of comment about this in the press is that they think it’s no big deal because they think this way too. We have had liberal bias for years, but has it really gone this far left? I pray it is not the case, but what else can one conclude? They are not ignorant and it is right in front of their faces daily. I would also like to comment on the silence of Democrats everywhere. I hear not a peep of condemnation about people like Van Jones, Mark Lloyd, Carol Browner, Anita Dunn, Ron Bloom--people who as I have mentioned before have communist ties or openly praise former communist leaders. What is it with the Obamas and their love of Marxists? Where is your outrage, Democrats? I really want to know. It has just snowed, and in this quiet season I should be able to hear your cries… but all I hear is the snow falling. Very disappointing. |
